1. Who we are

2. What data we collect

We do not collect personal data. When you vote on a take, we generate a random anonymous ID (a UUID) and store it in your browser's localStorage under the key voter-id. This ID contains no personal information — it is stored in your browser under the key ailetics_voter_id and is used solely to prevent duplicate votes. It is never sent to third parties.

3. Legal basis

Processing of the anonymous voter ID is based on our legitimate interest in maintaining the integrity of the voting system (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No consent is required as no personal data is processed and the storage is strictly necessary for the service to function.

4. Cookies & Analytics Consent

We use a cookie consent banner on first visit. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) sets cookies to collect anonymised usage data. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. You can change your preference at any time via the "Cookies" link in the footer. Your choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key cc_cookie. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

5. Third-party services

We use Supabase (Supabase Inc.) to store votes and takes in a PostgreSQL database. Supabase processes data on servers within the EU. Only the anonymous voter ID and vote choice are stored — no personal data. See Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Data is anonymised (IP anonymisation enabled). See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

6. Data retention

Anonymous vote records are stored indefinitely to maintain accurate vote counts. You can delete your local voter ID at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage. This does not delete past votes from our database, as they are not linked to any personal data.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, and erase personal data we hold about you. As we do not collect personal data, these rights are satisfied by default. If you have questions, contact us at info@ailetics.de.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
